Why do we treat subjects like algebra and geometry as essential knowledge, yet consider environmental literacy optional?
In today’s climate-conscious era, this question demands more than a passing thought. Math is foundational, yes, but so is understanding the ecosystem we depend on. As the climate crisis intensifies, biodiversity declines, and pollution rises, the need to instill ecological awareness in young minds has never been more urgent. Just as math trains logic and critical thinking, nature-based education builds environmental empathy, systems thinking, and a sense of responsibility for the planet.
