Today, we shift our attention to Seyifunmi Adeboté, a change maker who’s not only reimagining environmental advocacy but is also empowering young minds to lead the charge for a sustainable future.

Seyifunmi’s journey into environmental activism didn’t follow a conventional path. Where many see challenges, he sees opportunities to innovate. He’s always believed that driving change requires more than just talking—it demands fresh, creative approaches that can engage people on a deeper level. This belief has shaped his work in the most profound ways.

At the heart of Seyifunmi’s efforts is his Climate Talk Podcast, a platform where he doesn’t just share information but weaves narratives that connect with people’s everyday lives. Through real-life examples and actionable strategies, he’s turning passive listeners into active participants in the fight against environmental degradation. His goal is simple yet powerful: to spark a desire in people to make a difference in their own communities.

But Seyifunmi’s impact goes beyond just telling stories. He’s deeply invested in finding new, practical ways to address environmental challenges. One of his key strategies involves revisiting old practices, documenting them, and finding innovative ways to bring these sustainable methods back to life for today’s world. It’s his way of honoring the past while paving the way for the future.

One of the standout projects Seyifunmi is involved in is the Youth Climate Council and the Climate Innovation Hub. These initiatives are designed to foster creativity and leadership among young people, empowering them to develop climate-smart strategies and startups that can make a real difference. During one of these programs, Seyifunmi and his team managed to share an impressive 3600 solutions meant to impact on the way young people approach environmental challenges. Through these initiatives, he has also helped 15 youths from the scene achieve significant success, proving that with the right support, young leaders can drive substantial change.

Despite facing the ongoing challenge of limited political will in Nigeria, Seyifunmi remains optimistic. He believes that by showcasing successful environmental practices from other countries and reviving valuable old practices, local leaders can be inspired to take more decisive actions.
